
FLOWER ASSISTANT
As Flower Assistant you’ll be working alongside Farmer Mel, who boasts 13 years of flower farming experience. You will take part in a variety of responsibilities, from fieldwork to bouquet-making. This role is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, often performing repetitive and strenuous tasks. Expect to be actively engaged throughout each day, as our intensive flower production methods ensure a high volume of blooms for markets, food hubs, and local businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organic flower farming while contributing to a beautiful and thriving farm community.

Flower Assistant Daily Tasks Include:
Harvesting flowers by hand with precision and care.
Planting, seeding, and transplanting flowers according to the crop plan.
Weeding, mulching, and trellising flower beds to maintain plant health.
Arranging bouquets for farmers markets, CSA shares, and wholesale orders.
Meeting harvest and arrangement deadlines efficiently.
Maintaining detailed records on harvests, plant health, and field conditions.
Keeping workspaces clean and organized for efficient workflow.
Helping with field prep and bed flips as needed.
Assisting at farmers markets when required.
Occasionally working in vegetable production if needed.
Flower Assistant expectations:
Arrive on time consistently and dependably.
Follow instructions carefully and pay close attention to detail.
Commit to the entire season (April–October, with potential for winter work).
Be physically fit, able to lift 40+ lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Adapt to outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Accept and apply constructive feedback with professionalism.
Communicate clearly and effectively with crew members and managers.
Work Schedule & Commitment:
Part-time position, 15–25 hours per week (2–4 days per week).
Early morning starts (as early as 6 AM in summer) for peak flower quality.
Some weekend work for farmers markets and special events.
Seasonal position (April–October), with potential for year-round employment.
APRIL-OCTOBER starting at $18/hour D.O.E., + free veggies/flowers are an inherent perk.
